Philosophy

Students attending St. Mary's adhere to a dress code. We believe that the SMS uniform is a visible reminder of our identity as a Catholic community with cherished traditions and values. It emphasizes an atmosphere of respect, courtesy, and responsibility. It establishes a feeling of community and equality within the school, minimizes distraction in the classroom, promotes self-discipline, and encourages high personal standards.

Uniform Code Summary

During the summer and spring, students may wear shorts or skorts along with their white polo style shirt. During the late fall and winter, students are required to wear pants. Full dress uniform is required for Wednesday's Mass celebration. For girls in grades Kindergarten thru 5, this includes a plaid jumper along with a Peter Pan style collared shirt. Middle school girls (grades 6 thru 8) must wear a two kick pleat khaki skirt (style #134), blue oxford cloth shirt - short or long sleeved (long style #519LO or short style #519SO) and a school plaid crossover tie (style #645). Middle school boys (grades 6 thru 8) wear khaki pants (style #7552 or #7611), blue oxford cloth dress shirt - short or long sleeved (long style #8066 or short style #8061), and a school plaid tie #640 or ready tie 12" #633, 16" #637.
