Welcome! ...

I'm so happy to have your

child in my class this year.

2nd Grade is a wonderful

year. We review 1st grade
skills, then move on to 2nd
grade objectives. Our
classroom is known as
"The Hive". We have our

class roll divided into 3

groups: "Courageous Bees",
"Helpful Bees", and
"Thankful Bees". Each week
I'll send home a "Beehive
Sheet", with the weekly
assignments. We will have
homework each evening
Monday thru Thursday.
Please have your child
return the "Beehive Sheet"
on Friday. This will assist
your child in achieving
growth in learning and
organization skills which
are indicated on the report
card. I will also send home
papers on Monday with an
attached note to indicate
your child's conduct for
the previous week. Please
sign this and have your
child return it to me on
Tuesday. We will begin
spelling next week with a
test being given on Friday.
The children will bring a
hand-written list home on
Monday. On Monday nights
the children write
sentences. The children may
bring a sport bottle for
water and are encouraged
to bring a healthy snack.
Please send all money in an
envelope with information
regarding the use such as
lunch, etc. Please write
your child's name and 2nd
grade on the outside of the
envelope. I want to take
this opportunity to thank
you in advance for your
help and support this year.
Education is really a team
effort involving parents,
teachers and students. I
will always strive to be the
example Christ would have
me to be. I realize my life
is a ministry and teaching is
my purpose in life. I would
appreciate your prayers for
our class.
