The objectives
of the Home & School Association include:

Promote open
communication among the parents, faculty and administration.

Encourage
families in the involvement and participation of spiritual,
intellectual, social and physical programs of the parish and the
school.

Offer
support, assistance, and advisement to the Pastor, Principal and the
School Board Members on policies and improvements designed for the
enrichment of school life.

Engender a
greater appreciation of Catholic education.

Assist with
our Annual Walk-A-Thon in the Fall.
-
Coordinate
the Annual St. Mary’s School Auction.
A schedule of Home & School Association
Meetings is listed to the right on this page. Anyone wishing to
address the General Membership at a Home & School Meeting should contact
a Home & School officer two (2) weeks prior to a scheduled meeting.
Elections for positions to be filled on the Board of the Home & School
Association will be conducted at the General Membership meeting in
February 2010.

Thank you
for taking an active role in your child’s education through your
membership and involvement in the Home and School Association.
The School Board is established by
the pastor, in accordance with Diocesan Policy, to advise him and the
Principal on the governance of the parish school. The objectives of the
School Board are Planning, Policy Development, Development (Public
Relations/Marketing), Finance, Public Policy, Principal Search
Committee, and Evaluation of Board Goals. The School Board is
consultative in nature.
The Board
is comprised of six voting members elected to serve three year staggered
terms. Three voting lay members are appointed by the pastor in
consultation with the Principal and the Board Chair based on the
recommendations of the nominating committee.
The School Board meets
monthly. Non-members wishing to address the Board should submit a
written, signed petition setting forth the matter to be addressed to the
Principal or Chair fourteen (14) days in advance of the meeting.
Speeches shall be limited to five (5) minutes. Matters of the moment may
be placed on the agenda immediately with the approval of the Chair.
